Russian Chocolates
During a visit to the Russian community in Barentsburg (Svalbard) I was able to purchase a couple of russian dark chocolates. The chocolate bars had been stored in the basement of the old hotel, so the flavor had been affected by the presence of mold in the storage room. Therefore I am not able to give a thorough description of how the flavor should have been if stored properly.

“Rossijskij Shokolad” is a dark chocolate containing 35.3 % fat and 50.4% carbohydrates, and is thus a sweet dark chocolate. The flavor is similar to the average sweet European or North American dark chocolate containing around 40-50% cocoa solids.
“Osennij Bals Poristij Shokolad” is a porous sweet dark chocolate containing 34.9% fat and 34.9% carbohydrates.
The porosity makes the chocolate melt more easily in the mouth, and thus increasing the flavor intensity. The flavor is like an average North American or European sweet dark chocolate.
Both these chocolates are made by Rot Front in Moscow, Russia.
