Michel Cluizel has a series with delicious single origin chocolates.
Mangaro is made with cacao beans from Madagascar and has the typical fruity flavor notes from that country, especially citrus, but also a hint of honey. Maralumi is made with cacao beans from Papua New Guinea and has strong fruity flavor notes of raisins, red currants and tobacco. Los Ancones is made with cacao beans from the Dominical Republic, and has also flavor of dried fruits like raisins and plums. Tamarina is made with cacao beans from Sao Tome and has a very rich and complex flavor.
Michel Cluizel won Academy of Chocolate’s gold award 2006 for Michel Cluizel Maralumi in the category “Best bean to bar”, silver for Michel Cluizel Mangaro, and bronze for Michel Cluizel Tamarina.

L’Artisan du Chocolat is one of the best chocolatiers in London, England. They produce truffles, chocolate bars, and a lot of other chocolate products. They have recently started their own chocolate manufacturing from cacao beans. During my last visit to London I found time to visit them and to try some of their products. And they were delicious! Among the best I have ever tried. You will find them in Chelsea at 89 Lower Sloane street, London SW1 W8DA.
Here we present photos of two single plantation chocolate bars from L’Artisan du Chocolat: Semana peninsula (which is rich and spicy, very long withnotes of liquorice and tobacco) and Carupano (Smooth with notes of roasted nuts and coffee), both containing 70% cocoa solids [Photo: Hal].
