Amano Jembrana

Amano Artisan Chocolate is a high-quality chocolate manufacturer in the USA that has won a number of gold and silver medals for excellent chocolate bars. The company is located in Orem, Utah, USA. We have previously tried three of their chocolate bars; for more information see our review.
Amano has now produced a new chocolate bar with cacao form the southern coast of the Indonesian island Bali. According to Amano, these cacao beans have deep chocolate flavor accented with gentle nuttiness. The chocolate is made with cocoa beans, cocoa butter, cane sugar and vanilla beans; it contains 70% cacao solids.
The flavor of the Jembrana bar is very much different from Amano’s chocolate bars made with cacao from Venezuela. I found flavor notes of honey, sultana raisins, and tobacco. There is a very slight bitterness in the end. It is not as rich as Amano’s Ocumare chocolate bar, however, it is still a very good chocolate.
