During my holiday in The Gambia I tried Cho Cho Milk Chocolate made by Dolphin pt in Indonesia. It was made with sugar, palm kernel oil, cocoa powder, corn starch, whey powder, milk powder, soya lecithin, salt and vanilla; and it had a weaker flavor than most European and North American milk chocolates. It was very sweet. [Photo of chocolate bar: Hal].

During a visit to The Gambia I was able to find Quanta Dairly Milk chocolate in a small shop in Bakau. This chocolate was made by Seville Products Ltd. in Dubai, United Arab Emirates.

The chocolate contained a minimum of 14% milk powder; the content if cocoa solids was not listed. The sugar content was high (57.1%) and it had therefore a very sweet flavor. It was made with non-cocoa vegetable fat (palm/palm kernel/shea/illipe) and can therefore not be regarded as a high-quality chocolate. The texture was harder than other milk chocolates available in Europe and North America, perhaps due to the content of non-cocoa fats [Photo: Hal].
